What is the Extractor Trick?

Hey everyone! I’ve been getting alot of emails asking what the extractor trick is. I personally use the extractor trick whenever I play Zerg, but I dont think it makes that much difference if you do it or dont.  I just like to do it because it keeps my APM (actions per minute) up, and get’s me warmed up for the game. But there are some builds that require the extractor trick. Thelittleone for one uses it for one of his early zergling rush builds.

How it’s Done

The extractor trick is very simple and allows you to get one extra drone while your overlord is building. Whenever you reach 10 supply build a extractor and then immediately after build one drone. Then cancel the extractor and build a overlord. Your supply should now be 11/10. It’s really that easy. If you want to see more of how it’s done watch the video below from Naruto Starcraft.
